Javier Leichman

Realizó sus estudios en el Conservatorio Nacional Carlos López Buchardo.
Cursó estudios de Composición con Francisco Kröpfl.
En 1990 obtiene una beca de la Fundación Antorchas para realizar estudios de postgrado en Composición.
En 1996 recibe la beca de Investigación del F. N. A. en Análisis de Música Electroacústica.
En 1999 recibe el encargo del F. N. A. para realizar la composición y arreglos para el espectáculo “Tango, otra mirada”, estrenado o en Buenos Aires y en Bourges, Francia.
En 2004 recibe la beca Antorchas en el rubro Composición Musical.
En 2006 recibe el premio municipal por su obra Todo bajo Control.


Received a music degree at the Conservatorio Nacional C.A.Buchardo.
In 1989 he took a course at C.I.M. (Musical Research Center) at the University of Buenos Aires wich lead to a scolarship from the Antorchas Foundation to study contemporary music.
Leichman´s advances studies include also composition and music morphology with Francisco Kroepfl.
In 1997 he won the Juan Carlos Paz National award by his electroacustic piece ¨Piedra Papel Y Tijera¨ , a work commissioned by the International Institute de of Music of Bourges, France, where he was a composer in Residence in 1996.
In 1998 he obtained an scholarship from the Fondo Nacional de las Artes to research in electroacoustic music analysis.
In 2004 he was granted with the Antorchas Prize in Composition.
In 2006 he was granted with the Municipal Prize in Composition.
He is currently Director of L.I.P.M. (Laboratory of Research and Musical Production).
